Il Grido Del Populismo

Il Grido Del Populismo

Thu 11 September | 18:15 Kino REX

Intellectuals promise political change in Italy, offering clear visions and new hope. But their realization comes to an abrupt end, like a filmstrip that breaks. A reactionary government is born, based on hegemonic narratives. What once flourished is now instrumentalised and distorted by the cry of populists.

Born in 1985 in Lucerne, Switzerland. He studied sociology and philosophy at the Universities of Lucerne and Berne, receiving his Master in Sociology in 2019 that addressed conservative narratives in the American Tea Party. As a musician he also toured the world with various musical groups and was selected for an artist residency in Chicago. He obtained a Master of Arts in Film from the HSLU (Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art), where he also worked as a research assistant in three SNF-funded projects. He is currently working on a PhD on the reuse of old cameras and cinema equipment through modern technology and digital media. He is a member of DFG-funded Camera Studies Network.
