After a spell cast by Grandmother Faraway, her filmmaker grandson, the oldest of a small countryside Portuguese family, encounters the ghost of his other deceased grandmother, Maria, singing in her old house. They chat as they used to while the fog rises from the surrounding mountain, bringing with it old myths that will engulf this family forever.
Tiago Siopa (*1988) is a Portuguese filmmaker. After studying Physics in Lisbon, he graduated in Documentary Cinema in Abrantes. His short Setil (2015) received a special jury mention at DOCLISBOA. His feature Ghosts: Long Way Home (2019) blends his family history and local tales. In 2020, he won the Doc Alliance Award and First Lights Award at JIHLAVA. He also works as an editor on short and feature-length films.
