Biography

Luàna Bajrami grew up in Kosovo before returning to France and making her acting debut at the age of ten. With a dual Franco-Kosovar culture, she travels from one country to the other, following the rhythm of her projects and collaborations with different filmmakers. She made a name for herself in 2019 with roles in Sébastien Marnier's School’s Out and Céline Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on fire. Self-taught, she wrote and shot her first feature film at the age of eighteen. The Hill Where Lionesses Roar is about youth and highlights the little-known landscape of her homeland: Kosovo. The film premiered at the Directors' Fortnight in 2021. Bota Jonë is her second feature film.
