Shot in the Kosovar village of Nevokaze, it depicts the traditional lifestyle of an Albanian family numbering 117 members, all living under one roof and in great harmony. One of the finest examples of ethnographic film to come from this region, it has been called a ‘spiritual portrait of the nation’
Biografie
Besim Sahatçiu was born on October 2, 1935, in Peja, Kosovo. He passed away in 2005. Besim Sahatçiu completed his primary and secondary education in the city where he was born. He then attended two years of world literature at the University of Belgrade. After interrupting his studies due to mandatory military service, he worked for four years as a translator at "Rilindja," the first newspaper in Albanian language in Kosovo. Later, he enrolled in the film department at the Academy of Theater and Film in Zagreb, which he completed in 1972.
Besim Sahatçiu directed dozens of films, theatrical productions, and TV shows and won numerous national and international awards.
